๐Ÿฎ 1. Gulab Jamun (Indian Milk Balls in Syrup)



 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk powder

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

  • 2 tbsp ghee

  • 1/4 cup milk (or as needed)

  • Oil/ghee for frying

For sugar syrup:

  • 1.5 cups sugar

  • 1.5 cups water

  • 4 cardamom pods

  • A few drops of rose water or saffron (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Combine milk powder, flour, and baking soda. Add ghee and mix.

  2. Gradually add milk to form a soft dough. Let rest for 10 minutes.

  3. Shape into small, smooth balls.

  4. Heat oil/ghee and fry on low heat until golden brown.

  5. Boil sugar, water, and cardamom to make syrup. Simmer for 10 mins.

  6. Soak fried balls in warm syrup for at least 1 hour.
